World Champions Choose Minus

We are nearing the end of the 2017 racing season and we at -273 would like to congratulate Danny Keirle, Oliver Hodgson, and Paolo De Conto on their World Championship titles this year. This is how everything went down...

The first world championship event of the year took place in Germany for the premier KZ category. CRG's reigning World and European Champion Paolo De Conto came into the event looking to defend his title. Though qualifying did not go his way, the Italian moved up throughout the heats to get a starting position right near the front of the grid. In the final Paolo worked his way to the lead quite quickly and never looked back!

Next the CIK headed to the PF International Circuit in England where Danny Keirle made his international karting debut. The Briton is regarded as one of the top drivers in the X30 category and after winning the Super One series was invited to compete with Chiesa Corse and Iame at the World Championship. It was a steep learning curve, but Keirle was up to the challenge and after a few heat wins he was awarded pole position for the final. In the final Keirle was nearly perfect taking the World Title in just his first ever CIK OK event.

A month later the top X30 drivers from around the world landed in Le Mans, France for the X30 International Final. Oliver Hodgson was the driver that was on everyone's stop watches and though he did not grab pole position, he would start the final from the front. After two years of breaking while in the lead of this World Championship event, Hodgson finally sealed the deal winning in dominating fashion.

-273 would also like to congratulate all of the champions and race winners from all over the world!
